HAP'S ALLEY FEBRUARY
NEWSLETTER
PRESIDENT'S
REPORT
Hi
Everyone
Well
here it is my last president report. First I want to thank Allen for
opening his home for us on New Years Day it was nice to see such a
large attendance. It was also brought up at the last meeting that
maybe we should change our annual party to January in place of February
since the school is closed I think that would benefit us since we
would be able to meet back at the school for February. I hope you all
enjoyed the paper plate workshop. Second, I want to thank all of
you for your support the last two years. We have made some changes in
the club I hope only for the better. Questions on our last meeting on
the Cori Check still puzzles me so I went back on our newsletters and
you will note that this had been passed by our membership unanimously all
present had voted for this and I believe that almost all members of
our club had been present at the time of voting and those that were not
present had sent in stating that they were in favor of this change. Yet
for some strange reason we seem to be still debating on this. I know I
have been working with the state department to get us to become
certified under the state but this will only save us money on the Cori
Check and giving us the capability of doing our own check on
our members as well as new members but does not stop us from
having one done as voted upon. As far as I can see by our by-laws that
all members are to be Cori Checked as well as any new members coming
into the club. I personally feel that since we work with children and
the elderly that this only benefits us as a group. Why would you not
want to have it done? I as a member of Haps Alley will continue to
support the Cori Check. If the general membership wishes to change it
with the new board then you can continue to bring it up for discussion
and but at this time it is in the by-laws and I am in support of the
by-laws. With that said those of you that are WCA members you have
received you ballot for nominations as well as new by-law changes
in the national. Please take a moment to look at this and PLEASE
remember to vote. Our northeast director will be at our February dinner
as well as our newly elect northeast director if you have any questions
feel free to boggle their minds. I would encourage all of you that have
not voted to bring your ballot to the dinner and we could discuss the
questions on the ballot. There has been a lot of talk on to vote NO
on ARTICLE V questions 1-4. I will also let you know if you are
undecided on who to vote for PRESIDENT, I will be voting on
ED ESTRIN. For those of you that are members of national this is
your time to be heard. Don't sit back and not vote then complain later.
Till
then take care
